Fans Forum: Pick your topic

goal.jpgDo you enjoy a good debate on Expressandstar.com early in the morning? Well here is your chance to pick the sporting topic.

Post what you would like to talk about on the comments page, we will pick the best one and take it from there!

Now you have your chance every day to post the question you would like your fellow commenters to debate.

It could be something related to our local clubs (e.g. ‘Will the new signings answer Wolves defensive problems?’ or ‘What striker should Albion bring in January?’).

It could be a national topic (e.g. ‘Who will replace Alan Curbishley at West Ham?’ or ‘Will England qualify for the World Cup in 2010?’)

You have until 10am. Go!

Peter Williams posted at 9:13am: Would you ever ground share with your rival to raise revenue for you club?

Fine crop of topics today it was difficult to call, keep it up tomorrow folks!

The long-term plan of the multi-billionaires (1) is to break away from the “smaller” clubs of the Premier League. Their new super-league will be based on the American sports franchise system. As they will not be able to afford being relegated, there won’t be any relegations – AND THEREFORE NO PROMOTIONS.Our favourite clubs will be left out in the cold.

Sam Vokes being treated like Freddy??? Time to grow a pair and get real mate, Sam has been injured for a couple of games and is only getting back to fitness now – he will probably play for Wales on Saturday which means he should be ready for the Charlton game. Because of the form of Iwelumo and Ebanks-Blake he is unlikely to start but should be on the bench. Also, Sam’s attitude is exemplary, something which your friend Mr Eastwood could never be accused of.

Should clubs introduce a system in which season ticket holders get to vote on signings. Although ultimatly it will be the managers choice and his choice of players to offer to the fans vote i think it would be nice to know what the fans think before he makes certain decisions. For example if we had 3 strikers to try and sign ask the fans to vote which one should be our main target. OR he could put the vote of whihc player would you want to see at the club realisticaly.

Tried to post this before, but it got rejected for some reason.

    Salary cap in football.

It’s made rugby league far more competitive, everybody beats everybody.

It would make the Premiership less boring and may help stop football from spiraling towards destruction.

Clubs are only allowed to pay 50% of their turnover in wages. This helps teams from spending beyond their means and may prevent smaller clubs from going extinct.

If you dont kick those millionaires of of your game the England squad will suffer. Ok the premiership is full of primadonnas and who doesnt like watching Ronaldos Kakas Robinhos … but who’ s gaining? them! they are becomming millionaires and not giving a chance for your home talent to shine on your own grass. I call them baby millionaires.

You have to go back to your roots, there’s no other route, do it or you drown. Look at Italy after the 82 world cup which they won there was an influx of foreign players into their football system, every star wanted to join Juve or Milan or Inter Roma Napoli and so on but in the long run who suffered? their national team. They won nothing UNTIL …

… Look at them now thw Serie a is no longer attracting major stars cos there no such money left so they come the premiership. But hey ‘ve just won a world cup with plenty is options to choose from they sometimes let star players out of the Nazionale. YOU AINT GOT ENOUGH STRIKERS TO CHOOSE FROM.

My advise is give your home talent their chance and English soccer will again the best soccer in the world and maybe even be world champions again just follow the italians and you’ll achieve what you deserve.

You’ve probably come up with the most thought provoking topic on here today (don’t mean the one about paying bloggers.)
If we don’t get our own house in order it looks as though Mr Platini may do it for us. Good thing to my way of thinking. It would put a brake on the amount going out of the game to players and agents. Many will remember back in the seventies, an Albion supporters coach going away to Luton, contributed to their anti bankruptcy fighting fund only to see them lording it over us years later before their other various financial problems over the years.
    What do others think.

48- I never said anything about who had the louder fans. I just said the Hawthorns is more condusive to a better atmosphere because it’s an enclosed stadium with the corners filled in and it’s closer to the pitch.

As for you outsinging us last season. Perhaps you were loud last year, but that would be because you were the underdog and we were more expectant.

Go back ten years and you’ll find we were the more supportive and you the more expectant.

There’s a reason for everything Southbank. Anyone can be the loudest fans when things are going their way or they’ve nothing to lose, I think if you asked most of your own if you were the loudest fans in the Championship over the course of the last season, they’d laugh at you. You wouldn’t have a reputation as such a bunch of whingers otherwise.

Ground sharing with Wolves is geographically silly, it’s too far, the ground holds about 1000 more, the colour is ****, we should have to FIGHT our way in and out again, especially when we won and you lost, (most of the time), most of your supporters would defect to being Baggies once they realised how much better it is to be a Baggyboy, oh I could go on but it’s a sad topic and pointless.
