WOLVES

The “one or two” players Wolves are thought to be chasing could well be two centre-back’s to solve their defensive problems for good.

ALBION

Albion are poised to tie up a £800,000 deal for NEC Nijmegen defender Jonas Olsson by the end of the transfer window on Monday.

There is also still the possibility that Charlton’s Zheng Zhi may move to Albion before the window shuts.

VILLA

Villa boss Martin O’Neill is poised to make an audacious move for West Ham striker Dean Ashton – after missing out on Blackburn’s Roque Santa Cruz.

WALSALL

Saddlers boss Jimmy Mullen will wait until after his side have played Southend before he decides whether to add to the squad.

BLUES

The Blues still want to add another centre-back to their ranks, with Walsall’s Anthony Gerrard looking the most likely.
