All the latest transfer gossip on Wolves, Albion, Villa, Walsall and Blues.

We have scoured the back pages and the internet to bring you the latest gossip.

We are not saying they’re true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy must decide whether to up his bid for Sunderland defender Danny Higginbotham or look elsewhere before the transfer window closes on Monday.

ALBION

Newcastle have been told by Rosenberg that Albion target Per Ciljan Skjelbred is now available – so the Baggies must act fast if they want to make a move.

VILLA

Villa boss Martin O’Neill is weighing up a deadline-beating move for Standard Liege’s £5million-rated midfielder Marouane Fellaini – after chief scout Ian Storey-Moore watched him excel at Anfield.

Everton have made a £10million bid for Newcastle’s James Milner in a bid to beat Villa in the race for his signature.

WALSALL

Saddlers boss Jimmy Mullen believes he has enough cover in his ranks should transfer-listed defender Anthony Gerrard leave the club.

That said, Mullen is likely to offer a month-to-month contract to trial defender Gary Breen as a precaution.

BLUES

The Blues must move on and fast after Celtic defender Bobo Balde turned down a move to St Andrews.
