Show is a romp through US lives

The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham
It was a night of irreverent humour and unashamed fun at the Alexandra Theatre last night as The Great American Trailer Park Musical made its UK premiere.
The snapshot of the “white trash” caravan parks was a hoot – and is sure to be a hit during its five-night run.
Set in the Florida trailer park Armadillo Acres, the show is a romp through the lives of the inhabitants, whose lives take an unusual turn when stripper Pippi, rocks up in town, on the run from her violent ex-boyfriend.
The show is narrated by three of the inhabitants of the park – proudly described by its residents as: “North Florida’s most exclusive manufactured housing community”.
The All-American cast poke fun at the underbelly of US society.
The humour can be a little coarse at times – that goes with the territory – but it is never too vulgar and its broad appeal is laugh-out-loud funny.
