Zuiverloon on way back to Albion

Monday 18th August 2008, 1:37PM BST.

wd2901297albion-8-dh-3.jpgNew Albion defender Gianni Zuiverloon could make his debut against Everton in the Hawthorns’ first Premier League game of the campaign against Everton on Saturday.

The 21-year-old, who has yet to play for the Baggies in a competitive match since a £3.2million move from Heerenveen in the summer, is on his way back to England after Holland were eliminated from the Olympics by Argentina.

The Dutch were beaten 2-1 in the quarter-finals, so their tournament is over, with Zuiverloon arriving back in the West Midlands practically match fit, so could be pitched straight in if needed against David Moyes’ men.

I think he’ll start on the bench on Saturday just because of the journey back from China being so long. Looking forward to seeing what he can do, as I’ve heard nothing but good things about him. It won’t be long until he’s taken the Hoff’s starting place if he is as good as I’ve heard

I think we will see him come off the bench on Saturday, don’t think after the long flight and not much training with the players that he will start the game. Looking forward to seeing him in action though.

I was disappointed with Hoef against Arsenal but maybe it was just first day nerves (or that crap haircut) that got to him – however he is under real pressure from Zuiverloon for the RB slot.

Cech was played out of position and that may have affected him AND Hoef – but the competition for places is gonna get stronger with each new addition – which is great news for the club.

I think Hoef may just get the nod against Everton but needs a good performance to keep his place.

I kept thinkin to myself has Robbo initiated Hoef into the gap left by KP in terms of bleached hair?

See KP got another after 50 seconds on the pitch.

Can’t help speculating what if …..

Yes I know that’s pointless but still can’t help it

…yeah, hoef was disappointing against the gooners – kept squandering posession too many times without being under any pressure. Could be on borrowed time at right back!

i wasant happy with ismeal miller because the amount of chances he had he lost and when ever he lost the ball he wouldant go back and try to win it bck he would just stand there waiting for a nother pass so i think he should improve on that.

wishing all the baggies players a good season COME ON U BAGGIES!!!!!!!!

Sorry but Hoef was suspect defending last season,I’m sure he will struggle at the back in the prem, that’s why TM paid 3mil. for a quality replacement.

Albion Wizards . It shouldent be a surprise to you that he KP, scores in the Championship. He did that all of last season. The question is, could he do it in the PL ? We will never know will we ? So let it go, leave it and get behind what we have got. Danish

10 – What are you on about you loon. Miller, apart from Kim, was our best player. He put more work in the weekend than last season. The only thing he did wrong was shoot when Almunia saved his shot. he should have sqaured for Kim for a tap in. At least he showed endeavor, and also made quite a few runs. Oh and by the way wouldant is not a word. Wouldn’t is however!!!
