Time to map out a plan for Villa's future
- Says blogger Matthew Turvey
Flying winger Jarvis has the lot
Monday 18th August 2008, 11:26AM BST.
Winger Matt Jarvis has been backed to become a star turn for Wolves this season – after being told he ‘has the lot’.
Jarvis won the penalty that put Wolves ahead at the weekend and saw a header palmed away in a virtuoso display. It was his first taste of action this season after a minor ankle injury.
Striker Chris Iwelumo said: “He’s a fantastic player. He’s got everything and he scores goals as well, so it’s something to be excited about.
“He was brought in for a reason and he’s left his name in the gaffer’s head. The gaffer has got a few selection headaches coming towards the end of this week. That’s all Matt can do. Hopefully we can kick on.”
McCarthy said: “Matt was fantastic – 10 out of 10 – but that’s the same for everyone. I started off playing one winger, because I played Stephen Ward in front of Matt.
“At home, it’s a different prospect. Matt and ‘Kights’ have got pace and both put crosses in.”
