The glamour of Hollywood came to Sandwell as three film stars rolled into the borough.

The stars from the Disney film Cars, including Lightning McQueen and friends Sally and Mater and Mack The Truck, were at Toys ‘R’ Us in Oldbury store as part of a whistle-stop tour around the UK.

Crowds of onlookers and film fans braved the rain to see the turbo-charged cars and take part in the summer holiday activities.

Disney marketing officer Nicola Dunhig said: “We are touring all round the country and the reaction has been absolutely overwhelming. Everyone has been getting really excited about it,” she added.

The cars – which are life size replicas from the 2006 cartoon film – have come to the UK from the Peterson Gallery in LA and have also been displayed at the Motor Show at ExCeL in London, and at other venues around the United Kingdom.
