Sylvan Ebanks-Blake will wear the coveted No 9 shirt for Wolves this season.
The 23-goal Championship Golden Boot winner takes the jersey from Andy Keogh, who switches to Jay Bothroyd’s previous No 10 in the squad numbers announced today.
Summer signing Richard Stearman has taken Gary Breen’s No 5 shirt, while David Edwards has taken over Seyi Olofinjana’s No 4.
Of the other new signings, David Jones takes 14 previously worn by transfer-listed Darren Potter, Sam Vokes is in Stephen Gleeson’s No 18 and Chris Iwelumo is in the No 19 that Stephen Elliott had in 2007-08.
Ebanks-Blake’s 27 from last season has been left blank along with numbers 12, 13, 22 and 28.
There is no place for Bothroyd, who is expected to complete his move to Cardiff tafter undergoing a medical, or Denes Rosa, who had Alex Melbourne’s 39.
The other transfer-listed players Darren Ward (23), Rob Edwards (24), Potter (25) and Elliott (26) have all been awarded jerseys.
Darren Ward, who was in the No 2 slot now occupied by Neill Collins, has taken Freddy Eastwood’s No 23 shirt.
Academy graduates Mark Salmon (31), Melbourne and Peter Williams (40) are also all awarded first team shirts.
