Victim scarred by girl with glass
Thursday 31st July 2008, 11:41AM BST.
An 18-year-old beauty student who came within a millimetre of blinding a teenager when she smashed a glass in his face at a West Midland pub has been locked up for almost three years.
Natalie Fellows launched the savage unprovoked attack on Mitchell Waldron after downing four vodka and cokes, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard yesterday.
Police were called to the Bulls Head in Pensnett Road, Brierley Hill, after the incident in November and arrested the female attacker.
Fellows from Swan Street, Pensnett, who had no previous convictions, admitted wounding with intent and was sent to a young offenders institution for two years eight months.
Mr Waldron, now aged 20 and a scaffolder from Wordsley, received cuts to his nose, forehead and the right eye he almost lost in the attack. He was on a night out with girlfriend Jodie Stafford when the attack happened and said today: “There was no reason for the attack. I have paid a high price for what that girl did. I could not work for two or three months. It has left lasting scars. I do not like to go out any more. I cannot enjoy myself because I am always watching my back in case something happens again.”
