Four figure sponsor for fledgling club

whitmore.jpegA fledgling Wolverhampton cricket club have had their future secured thanks to a four-figure sponsorship deal from a nearby shop.

Whitmore Reans cricket club, which was formed last year and now has 40 young members, appealed for sponsors to help fund kit and equipment.

Local shop Foodwise, of Staveley Road, came forward with more than £1,000 to provide the items needed.

A club spokesman said: “The deal is very important for the club. We needed good equipment to provide good facilities for the players. This money will let us do that.”

The club currently have four teams playing in friendlies across the West Midlands but have applied for membership of the Staffordshire Clubs Championship.
