Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Mimms closes on job with Ince
Saturday 26th July 2008, 11:46AM BST.
Wolves’ goalkeeping coach Bobby Mimms is a step closer a Molineux exit.
Mimms is wanted by his former Wolves clubmate Paul Ince at Blackburn – where current goalkeeping coach Eric Steele has been recruited by Manchester United.
In a coaching merry-go-round, Steele will replace former Birmingham keeper Tony Coton, who was forced to quit Alex Ferguson’s backroom staff at Old
Trafford in January because of knee problems.
Wolves are awaiting a response from Blackburn after telling their old captain and new Ewood Park boss they want to keep Mimms.
Wolves may seek compensation if Mimms, who is under contract, does leave. But they have had no further contact from Ewood and the matter could drag on while the parties thrash out terms of his departure.
Boss Mick McCarthy and his staff fear losing the highly-rated coach because of the lure of working in the Premier League at his former club, and with ex-Wolves colleague Ince.
But for the moment, chief executive Jez Moxey is putting a brave face on the matter.
“It’s business as usual,” he says.
