Cork City striker Dave Mooney has played down reports linking him with a move to Sunderland and Wolves, insisting that he is happy at Turner’s Cross.

Bury manager Alan Knill is expecting to complete the loan signing of Wolves midfielder Elliott Bennett in the near future.

ALBION

Tony Mowbray has played down reports that West Brom have made an offer for Bolton defender Abdoulaye Meite.

VILLA

In what seems like day 104 of the saga, Gareth Barry has rejected Martin O’Neill’s attempts at smoothing over their simmering row and again made it clear he is determined to quit Aston Villa for Merseyside, says the Mirror.

Martin O’Neill has confirmed the club had a bid for David Bentley rejected by Blackburn while admitting the Gareth Barry situation is “unchanged.”

WALSALL

Nothing from the Saddlers today.

BLUES
