Clement: Keep faith with Baggies

clement.jpgAlbion stalwart Neil Clement has urged fans to put their faith in Tony Mowbray and Jeremy Peace after a summer of Hawthorns departures.

The loss of Zoltan Gera, Kevin Phillips and Martin Albrechtsen has sparked fears among supporters of a season of struggle in the Premier League.

The Baggies’ longest serving player, who has seen many comings and goings during seven seasons with the club, is backing the chairman and manager to replace the duo wisely.

He said: “They were good players but football keeps going and people come and go. They will be missed but the manager and the chairman know what they are doing. I just leave it to them to do what they’ve got to do.

“In the past Joe Kamara left, Jason Koumas left and Curtis Davies left. They were three good players but new signings came in and we won the league, which we haven’t done in years.

“You’ve got to go with what the boss and the chairman want to do.

“They were good players and they had a big impact last year but we just wish them all the best and move on.”

Clement is heading into his third Premier League adventure with Albion, having become the first man ever to win three promotions with the club.

He is now relishing the chance to pass in some of his experiences to the Premier League rookies within the current Baggies squad.

He said: “I just do what I can do. I try to help when I can and I have learned from my mistakes.

“That is probably the best thing I can contribute to some of the younger players going into this season.

“They are all good players so we learn from each other.”
