Stab victim found in quiet lane

wd2909483wood-hayes-3-eb-1.jpgA woman was stabbed in a country lane near Wolverhampton in an early morning attack. The injured 23-year-old is thought to have been found by a passing motorist who took her to hospital in Cannock.

She was then transferred to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. 

Forensic officers were today searching Wood Hayes Road in Westcroft, near Wednesfield, for evidence and the entire lane was sealed off by police. A white incident tent was also set up on the edge of a playing field in the secluded lane. 

The woman’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening and she was today said to be in a stable condition.

Two men have been arrested and are helping police with their inquiries following the stabbing in the early hours of yesterday.
