Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Freddy’s got a point to prove

Freddy Eastwood has set his sights on showing Wolves what they missed by being Coventry’s top scorer next season.
Eastwood finally ended the long saga on his future when he signed a four-year contract for the Sky Blues last night in a £1.2m deal rising to £1.5m.
Coventry say the former Southend striker has waived a settlement on his Wolves contract.
The former Southend man scored four goals in 12 starts plus a further 23 appearances off the bench in his one season at Molineux.
But he aims to better that at the Ricoh Arena.
“My aim is to end the season as the club’s top goalscorer – I’ve scored goals elsewhere and that’s exactly what I want to do here at Coventry,” said Eastwood. “The move has been talked about for quite a while so I’m just delighted it’s finally going through.
“My agent kept me informed of what was going on in March and it was so disappointing that it didn’t happen then, so I am really pleased now.
“I was looking out for Coventry’s results at the end of last season because I knew there was a good chance that they would be coming back in for me, so it was a huge relief they stayed in the Championship.
“I know the manager is now looking to build things back up again here and, he was a big factor in me joining the club.
“I’ve spoken to a lot of people in the game about him and everybody says he is a brilliant manager and nobody has a bad word to say. I’ve started my pre-season with Wolves and that’s gone well so far and now I can’t wait to keep up that good work here.
“The Ricoh Arena is a great place to play your football – it is one of the best in the Championship so I’m looking forward to getting out there.”
Eastwood is set to fly out for Coventry’s pre-season tour of Switzerland on Monday.
