Woman attacked in front of child
Saturday 5th July 2008, 5:30PM BST.
A terrified driver was attacked by a gang of three men in front of her child as she parked her car in Darlaston.
The woman, aged 29, had pulled up in Bull Street, just outside the town centre, when the men approached her.
One opened the driver’s door, assaulted the woman and attempted to drag her out of the vehicle.
She struggled to stay in her seat as her young child sat in the back.
They then stole her purse from the dashboard before running away towards Slater Street.
The woman suffered injuries to her face in the attack just before 3pm on Thursday.
Police today issued an appeal for witnesses who may have seen the men.
They are all described as Asian and of skinny build, approximately 18 years old, with short black hair and clean shaven.
One of the men was slightly taller than the others at 5ft 10in and was wearing dark blue jeans and a long sleeved, dark woollen zip-up top. The other two were around 5ft 8in, and wearing dark blue jeans and dark coloured tops.
