Moxey confirms Mulgrew interest

Thursday 3rd July 2008, 12:50PM BST.

cmulgrew.jpgWolves chief executive Jez Moxey has confirmed the club are in talks with “two or three clubs” about selling defender Charlie Mulgrew.

Two of those clubs have already been indentified. One is League One side Southend, where Mulgrew was on loan last season.

Swindon, also of League One, are also interested.

Both clubs have already lodged bids for the 22-year-old.

The former Celtic man is not needed at Molineux as third choice left-back and the club will allow him to move on.

Swindon boss Maurice Malpas said: “I’m hopeful we can come to some agreement.”

if a player like eastwood dosent get a chance then mulgrew definetley wont, probably not good enough but cant be any worse than collins at left back

    8. Totally agree – Collins is a liability where ever he plays along the back 4. I thought Mulgrew looked ok when he got a game. Good old MM – he knows what he’s doing!

Loan him out for 12 months then get him back and assess him…

If he was fit he would be a good player.

As for number 10s comment I wholeheartedly agree with you… The sooner Freddy finds somewhere else the better maybe then we can stop dwelling on it… And I for one always used to say I wanted freddy to have a run of games to see what he was made of! Oh well thats life.

The lad seemed out of his depth at WOlves. I remember him being bought on 2 seasons ago and then being taken off after 25 mins. It was always downhill from there.

Southend rate him, but hey they think Eastwood is a god, and look where they are.

Any one who said Mulgrew looked OK didn’t go to the games. He was slow to read the pace of a game, slow into the tackle and had moments when he switched off completely! He was out of his very limited depth. And how many games did Collins win for us with last minute headers? You people have very short memories.

to be honest with you collins getting a new 4 year deal has got me so angry im not going to bother as much this season travelling from gloucester to watch mc carthys mate play when he is a league 2 player at best. he is soooo Poor its unreal and even though he has 2 years left they extend i=t to 4? its not as if anyones going to bid for him, ive got behind mick until that point EVERYONE can see how bad he is, but i think micks giving away the clubs money to keep- his mate in work SHOCKING. That was the final straw for me.

20: Laughing Wolves. Please get over it. AS far as I am concerned he is one negative on an otherwise upward tradgectary.

Look at the positives, you will feel a lot better.

If you are feeling really ambitious with your positivity, you might even see the that having a player that can play across the back 4 is quite handy.
