WOLVES

Wolves are likely to go back to Peterborough with an improved £2.5million bid for striker Aaron McLean, who has handed in a transfer request.

ALBION

A £1million price tag on Albion’s Craig Beattie may not be the only reason stopping the striker moving to Preston – Sheffield Wednesday are also thought to be interested.

The Baggies are looking at Plymouth winger Peter Halmosi as a replacement for Zoltan Gera but the Hungarian is also being tracked by Hull and Sheffield United.

VILLA

Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson is poised to make the next step toward a move to Villa Park in the next couple of days.

Liverpool have increased their bid to £17miilion for Villa skipper Gareth Barry – with manager Rafael Benitez insisting that is their final offer.

WALSALL

The Saddlers are expected to tie up their second summer signing, a striker, today.

BLUES

Defender Franck Queudrue and midfielder Olivier Kapo are likely to be hurried out of St Andrews after failing to turn up for pre-season training.

The Blues have slapped a £4.5million price tag on midfielder Sebastian Larsson.
