More than 1,000 people enjoyed all the fun of the fair when they descended on a Sandwell park.
Held to raise money to spruce up Great Barr’s Redhouse Park, the event yesterday featured scores of stalls run by local people alongside a range of attractions.
A mobile beach was set up at the beauty spot, as well as appearances from donkeys, clowns, storytellers, Punch and Judy shows and rides on a miniature steam engine.
Chairman of the park’s friends group, Bill Gunn said the fun fair had also proved popular with the crowds yesterday.
“We’ve had quite a crowd,”he said.
“There has been so much to do here today and everyone has really got into the spirit of things. You name it, we’ve got it here.
“My aim is to put Redhouse Park back on the map and events like this are an excellent way of doing exactly that.”
The day also featured representatives from the different emergency services, including demontrations from firefighters.
Mr Gunn added that the friends group was in the process of organising future fund raisers and urged more people to get involved.
