Owners Enterprise Inns today disclosed that talks were well-advanced to fill the vacancy at The Greyhound in Lower Penn.

The popular restaurant shut a fortnight ago, with the owner blaming financial problems.

The move saddened many residents and stunned its previous owner. But Enterprise Inns spokeswoman Vicky Averis said today the business was soon to be resurrected. “The Greyhound is closed but occupied and negotiations are under way with interested parties,” she said.

Lower Penn parish councillor Sonia Handley said: “The pub is at the heart of the village and was a great loss to the community when it shut. It would be good news if it reopened.”
