Rock-bottom Wolves aim to climb
Friday 6th June 2008, 8:00AM BST.
Wolves bid to turn the corner when they visit the Lakeside Hammers tonight.
Wolves suffered another home defeat on Monday against Swindon and, with Peterborough claiming a surprise win at Poole on Wednesday, the Monmore men are firmly at the foot of the Elite League table.
Kenneth Hansen returns at reserve, having recovered from the injuries sustained in a crash in Finland last weekend, while Swindon’s Troy Batchelor guests for Niels Kristian Iversen.
Wolves will be hoping David Howe’s recent ignition problems with his machines are cured and that Freddie Lindgren and Ales Dryml continue their good form.
Tonight is the side’s first visit of 2008 to the Arena-Essex Raceway and Wolves will no doubt look back on their incredible 60-36 success at the venue in 2005, plus their 12-point win last year.
But the Hammers have a strong line-up, including reserve in the form of Finn Joonas Kylmakorpi. He has been in superb form since dropping to number seven.
