WOLVES
Wolves will be back with an improved bid for Hearts defender Christophe Berra after having an initial £1.5million bid turned down.
Derby County want £750,000 from Wolves for former Manchester United midfielder David Jones.
ALBION
Albion will move for Derby County winger Giles Barnes if out-of-contract Zoltan Gera leaves the Hawthorns.
Sheffield Wednesday are keeping tabs on Albion striker Bartosz Slusarski if Leon Clarke moves back to former club Southend.
Albion want to take Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson on loan after Villa baulked at making a £6million move.
VILLA
Villa are considering launching a £3million bid for Crystal Palace midfielder Sean Scannell.
Villa boss Martin O’Neill is still thought to be interested in Liverpool and England striker Peter Crouch.
WALSALL
Phil Starbuck could be appointed as assistant manager to new boss Jimmy Mullen and the two know each other well – Mullen was number two to Starbuck at Hednesford a year ago.
Saddlers boss Mullen has also been assured he will see some of the transfer money raised by the transfers of Scott Dann and Daniel Fox to use in the transfer market.
BLUES
Blues boss Alex McLeish is weighing up a move for Coventry’s Maltese striker Michael Mifsud.
