Kidderminster have captured highly rated striker Darryl Knights and defender Luke Jones in a fruitful day of transfer activity at Aggborough – with midfielder Andy Ferrell also penning a new one-year deal.
Knights, 20, spent a portion of last season on loan with the Harriers and was a big hit, scoring four goals in 13 appearances. He officially joins on July 1, after his release from Yeovil.
Jones, 21, also enjoyed a successful loan spell at Aggborough last season, until he was recalled by Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson. He was freed by the Shrews’ at the end of the season and, like Knights, joins on July 1.
Ferrell made 38 starts last season but was out of contract at the end of the season with manager Mark Yates quick to offer new terms. The traffic has not been all one way – goalkeeper Chris MacKenzie has been released.
Harriers can continue what promises to be an exciting day with the news that midfielder Andy Ferrell has finally penned his new contract with the club.
The former Hereford United player was out-of-contract at Aggborough following the end of the season, but was quickly offered new terms by boss Mark Yates.
Ferrell has now put the finishing touches on the new deal which will see him remain at the club for a further year.
The all-action midfielder made 38 starts for Harriers last season, scoring one goal.
Ferrell told harriers.co.uk today: “I enjoyed my time here last year and I always intended to sign again.
“I’ve spoken to a few other clubs and have told the gaffer that but have also told him that I never wanted to leave, I have a good relationship with him and everyone at the club.
“It’s taken a while to sort everything out but now it’s been finalised I’m very happy.”
