We should all wish Jimmy Mullen the best of luck and hope that he will be a great success.

However this appointment will not sell a single extra season ticket. If Bonser had said a month ago that he had been so impressed with Mullen over the last six months that he was the obvious man for the job then I think we would be a little less worried. How can he tell us that Mullen was the one he wanted all along when he has spent weeks desperately trying to get somebody better?

When Saddlers/Bonser Pensions Ltd announced they were looking at quality candidates I, for one, was taken in (perhaps I’m a Saddler too long in the tooth). Can we find out who the other candidates were as I bet there WOULD have been more experienced managers applying but Jeffrey has gone for the cheaper option again. Shame I bought my early bird season ticket early this year – had I known what was going on I wouldn’t have bothered. Off to the bookies now to get odds on relegation …. after all, fans despondent, no team, no squad and a second rate manager who’s more recent job was selling cars???? Congratulations Jimmy Mullen
You were good enough for Dickie Dosh to appoint you as his right hand man and your arrival coincided with a long run of success.
You were successful at Burnley for two seasons and you have the coaching qualifications.
I for one welcome your appointement and wish you well. If you do well the club does well and thats what is important to me.
I am excited at the prospect of new players joining us and a new squad of players to watch.
I for one am staying positive and I resent some of the comments hear about your career and qualifications for the job.
Too many supporters think they know best anf that they understand the workings of a football club. I am very glad none of the people commenting on here are not in charge of my club.
Take the club forward Jimmy, I have also been following the club for over forty years and I shall be at the first game, none of this nonsence about not going back to the club again until Bonser has gone. What rubbish!

It is funny that Bonser says that Mullen was successful FOLLOWING his time at Burnley. Did he actually even read the guy’s CV?

He was sacked from Blackpool after a disappointing year in charge, and then Mullen had two good years at Burnley, one average year there and two very poor years. But FOLLOWING his dismissal by Burnley he has flopped at every club since as he slid down the football ladder at Sligo, Colwyn Bay, Telford, Bromsgrove and Market Drayton until he was part time assistant at Hednesford, spending most of his time selling used cars.

I have said before that unless TRUE ambition was shown by JB in the appointment of the new manager, and subsequent signing of players, that it would be away games only for me next season. Well, I’ve changed my mind after this ‘important’ announcement – It will only be away games at ‘new’ grounds for me next season.

Well done JB. Your total lack of any ambition on the playing side of the club I have loved since I was a kid, has caused me to stop doing something I have done for nearly 40 years – going to Walsall home games. Thanks for that.

WFC is no longer a club “striving to survive in the shadow of our more illustrious neighbours”. It has, quite simply, become a ‘cash-cow’ for JB’s personal gain.

Whilst I am sure there are items of confidentiallity which you may not be able to share with us,I think that the fact a particular candidate applied for the job is sufficient reason for that fact to be known.
Unless of course they would be mortified for it to be revealed that they had been rejected by Walsall of all clubs.
I am sure if we can see that you have made the right choice given all the cicumstances that all the stinging criticism would dissappear and that all true supporters will rally round the new regime and look forward to the coming season.

How about give Mullen a chance first, Mullen at least has experience and at experience at Walsall. More importantly, Burnley played some excellent football under Mullen, if he had Walsall playing like that, then Walsall may well survive even though looking like relegation candidates at end of last season. I think Mullen does give the club some chance of decent football.

There is no point in complaining about absence of other managers, if such managers would have nothing to spend. But it appears Mullen will have something to spend at least.

I think one objective must for progress must be to stop making bad transfer decisions, even I think Butler was a good player who Walsall still could have done with.

I hope the express and star will report on the Walsall fans disatisfaction at this appointment and the way Bonser is running our club.

I hope the protests that everyone is talking about happen and Bonser finally see’s that we are not going to take his nonsense anymore or his pathetic management signing.

I doubt this paper will print the feelings of true Walsall fans !

    Bonser out !!!
