Fans due in court over violent clash

Fifteen football fans are due before Walsall Magistrates Court today following violent clashes before an FA cup match.

The men, including two from Wednesbury, are charged in connection with disorder outside Tamebridge Parkway railway station before the clash between Walsall and Shrewsbury Town in November.

Eleven Shrewsbury Town FC supporters were arrested during early morning raids by British Transport Police officers at addresses in Shrewsbury on January 8.

Two other men were later arrested from Shrewsbury and a further two were arrested from Wednesbury.

The men in court from Wednesbury are Karl Garry Varden, 21 from Keir Road, Friar Park, and Daniel Eric Holmes, 21, from Carrington Road, Friar Park.
