A £5.8 million landmark apartment scheme on Stone Cross Island in Wednesbury has been launched by ex-West Bromwich Albion star ‘Super’ Bob Taylor on behalf of Dasim Developments Ltd.
Due for completion in June, the seven-storey development is being built by Stradform (Midlands), now part of Weaver PLC, and comprises of 55 spacious two-bedroom apartments, which will be sold with fully-fitted kitchens and which also benefit from secure underground parking, landscaped communal gardens and visitor parking.
Steve Hudson, general manager/director of Weaver, says: “It is great to see the rejuvenation of this prime site at the gateway to Wednesbury via this new residential development.
“Dasim’s scheme includes larger-than-average room and corridor sizes and I am sure the apartments’ specification and location will prove extremely popular with potential buyers.
“The higher the apartment, the more breathtaking the view of Birmingham.”
Prior to construction, Dasim Developments had to demolish a derelict bingo hall on the site.
Mr Jacky Emanuel, director at Dasim Developments, says: “Demolition and construction on such a strategically located site requires detailed attention to health and safety issues for both the Stradform team and the general public.
“To date we have had a close and good working relationship with Stradform.”
Weaver PLC, a subsidiary of Vinci PLC, is also working on a scheme of 13 townhouses for Dasim Developments at Newton Road in Great Barr, due for completion at the end of July.
Architect for the schemes is Haden Richie Bailey of Tamworth and structural engineer is Clarke Bond Partnership of Birmingham.
The selling agent is Bartrams on (0121) 6019370.
