Jay stays but Lowe returns

Thursday 17th April 2008, 1:37PM BST.

jay.jpgWolves striker Jay Bothroyd has had his loan stay at Stoke extended to the end of the season.

The 25-year-old joined the table-topping Potters last month after falling out of favour at Molineux and has made four League appearances for Tony Pulis’ side.

Bothroyd is eligible to feature in the play-offs should Stoke fail to secure automatic promotion – but not against Wolves.

Meanwhile, Wolves defender Keith Lowe is to return to Molineux after a season-long loan at Port Vale.

“It’s purely a footballing decision based on the money available and our squad size,” said Vale boss Sinnott.

“It’s my job to make these decisions and it’s an opportunity to strip back, regroup and build strongly.”

The 22-year-old defender made 28 appearances for the relegated League One club, and 25 in the League, where he has scored three goals.

Lowe has played 76 League games in his career, but only 14 for Wolves after loan spells at Burnley, QPR, Swansea, Brighton, Cheltenham and Vale after signing pro under Dave Jones in May 2004. Mark Little is also back at Molineux after three months at Northampton.

lol funnily enough i have played against Keith Lowe when he was at school (St Chads) 16/17yrs old, and now i’m sitting at my desk at work whilst he is playing professional football! And to make things worse, he wasn’t really all that special!

Jay all you’ve done for us is score a great goal against Leeds, and beat Albion last season, you have undoubted talent but you are a lazy player and workrate is clearly a word you don’t know of. So good riddance plz Stoke are stupid enough to buy him. And Lowe if you have anything about you, you’ll impress in training and make the step up to senior football.

To watch Jay Bothroyd squander his talent is sad. However, its his life and we can’t do anything about it.

Sell him for the best price we can get before he becomes a financial liability.

    Wolve4lyf !!!

Bothroyd is way better than some of the strikers w ehave at the moment,

Kyle – does nothing but jumps and gets knocked over at the slightest touch.

Keogh – runs around like a headless chicken and gets rid of the ball as soon as possible.

if people moaned at keogh for losing the ball as much as they moaned at Bothroyd, then keogh would be the one on loan.
