Kiely after bragging rights

Tuesday 15th April 2008, 1:30PM BST.

kiely22.jpgAlbion keeper Dean Kiely has revealed he needs victory over Wolves at Molineux tonight to claim the bragging rights over old friend Gary Breen.

Kiely and Wolves defender Breen remain good friends after playing together for the Republic of Ireland.

And Kiely is desperate to be on the right end of the sporting banter the next time the duo meet. “Gary is a good friend of mine, regardless of what teams we play for,” said Kiely.

“I take on board the club rivalry but we played together for Ireland. We’re good mates but the banter has already started.

“Football is no different to other jobs, it doesn’t matter who you work with, banter is always flying around.

We are no different to blokes in the pub,” he said.

I can see wolves taking an early lead tonight – maybe even going 2-0 up, but I think we will score 3 and it will finally end 3-3.

I would take a draw now just because in derby games anything can happen, form and positions mean little in these games.

Both teams have been similar since the new year as we have stuttered and wolves have found some form – anything can happen tonight – so Albion could just as easily win 3-0 !!

Can’t wait till the end of the game – thousands of baggies fans standing in the bowl singing…

“WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE, I SAY WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE…”

    (Fingers crossed)

    Simon in Oklahoma!

Recent form gives Wolves the edge. Last 6 Wolves have got more points, scored more goals & conceded less than the Albion…and have the home advantage.
Albion possibly have the psychological edge, & as we all know it really could go either way.

If Albion win they will be Champions & we’ll be 7th , if we win we’ll face them in the play offs…so no pressure!.

Err, my prediction….match abandonned, tactical floodlight failure. (cutting cables the Mowbray way??)

I can find no mention of Kiely being out injured anywhere, so it may just be a rumour.

If he is out then I’m sure Danek will fill in well – all reports on him are that he’s brilliant.

Can i ask southbank , by what method do you call style. Its been an up and down season for you . One week you love mick , the next week you lot want him out. What style are you talking about please . There has never been much style has there . Its just route one , like its always been. At least if we dont go up we have entertained , and received many plaudits. What praise have your lot received this season.

Will be interesting to see if Phillips plays or not, if he does, I dont think he will last long with the monster ready to take him out. And Miller wont last any longer than 60 minutes because he’s an unfit lump.
