Harriers search for new sponsor
Thursday 27th March 2008, 11:15AM GMT.
Kidderminster are looking for new main sponsors after Hire It! ended their four-year relationship with the club.
Company boss John Davies has opted to pull the plug on the sponsorship after he was blocked from joining the Harriers board without paying the required £50,000 into the club.
“I wanted to give the fans and the sponsors more involvement at a higher level,” said Davies.
“I have put a lot of effort into the club and have always been available to help it out.”
Meanwhile, Kidderminster boss Mark Yates was today targeting a double boost – a new signing and victory at Crawley tonight.
The Harriers manager was hoping to add a new face to his side before the 5pm deadline for loan deals.
And any new man could be in the squad for the re-arranged Blue Square Premier clash with Crawley.
Assistant manager Neil Howarth said: “I would have thought we would have one or maybe two more bodies in.
“We are looking at a defender since we lost Luke Jones.
“We need competition and cover in defence and we will see what else we can get.
“It’s hard work on the players, but they are young fit lads and we have got a fully-fit squad and we might be able to switch the team about over the next couple of games.
“It’s a big ask to play in all the games. I am pretty sure we won’t have the same starting 11 for those games.”
