West Midland bikers revealed their softer side when they took part on an Easter bike ride – delivering chocolate eggs.

Members of the Spirit of Chapel Ash bikers club collected more than 400 eggs to distribute to residents of a care home.

After meeting at Grosvenor Casino near junction 10 of the M6 at Walsall, 23 bikers and their pillion passengers rode down the motorway, onto the M5 and into Halesowen.

They were met by the residents and carers of Halas Homes, which looks after people with learning difficulties. The ride was organised by Pat Sterenberg, aged 54, and her husband Roger, who live in Aldridge. “It was brilliant – everyone made such an effort and everyone who was given an egg was delighted to receive it,” said Pat, a customer services manager.

Member Ruth Edwards, a partner at Thursfield Solicitors based in Kidderminster, brought more than 100 eggs collected from her firm while Peter Tyson, from Hadley Industries in Smethwick, also collected dozens thanks to his colleagues.
