FC Perton faced the daunting task of playing the league’s top two teams and having narrowly lost to a late late goal against FC Strollers they bounced back to become the first team to take a point off leaders Bentley Youth.
Kian Dwyer and Gianni Boparon were on target for Strollers with Jordan Astbury netting for Perton while Jordan and Ross Burns found the net against Bentley with Ryan Allmark and Jake Powers rescuing the point for Bentley.
Bentley had earlier beaten Vic Market Tigers with goals from Kieran Francis, Ryan Allmark, Reece Rolston, Jake Powers and Jack Adams while a late goal from Kian Dwyer gave FC Strollers the points against Vic Market Tigers after Gianni Boparon’s early goal had been cancelled out by a strike from Jack Carter for the Tigers.
On the Ball Academy and All Saints Juniors both enjoyed an unbeaten Sunday.
They opened the session by sharing the points and two goals with Derek Wall equalising for All Saints after Joel Waite had given OTB the lead.
Joel also bagged the all important goal as OTB beat Stone Cross Academy Lions while Joseph Hall, Brandon Downes and Charlie Street ensured All Saints collected maximum points from their game against Stone Cross Academy Tigers.
Earlier the Tigers had shared the spoils with stable mates Stone Cross Lions with Reece Law netting for the Tigers and Ayden Bogle for the Lions. An apology to birthday boy Joel Waite whose goal for OTB in their 3-1 defeat against Bentley Youth was omitted from last week’s report.

As the Spring League draws to a close there are still major issues to be decided, with only the First Division having completed all its fixtures, as FC Perton were confirmed as runners-up following a 2–0 win over Wolverhampton Development Panthers.
Perton’s goals came from Andrew Shave and Aaron Green. Congratulations to Perton.
The Premier Division remains open to any of four teams, although Perton and Codsall West, who did not play, remain top on goal difference from Lane Head, who fought out a goal less draw with contenders Wednesfield.
Wednesfield themselves move up into third place following an outstanding 8–0 victory over Smethwick Sikh Temple, with four goals from Jamie Goodwin, two from James O’Malley and one each from Luke Mitchell and Jake King.
The margin of victory gives Wednesfield the best goal difference in the Division, and means that the top four teams all have a chance of league honours.
In the Second Division again there are four teams competing for the top places after a day of surprises.
Ashbourne Raiders, strong contenders for top spot, could only pick up a point from their two matches.
The Division’s top scorer Charlie Irving managed a brace against St Joseph’s Colts, but goals from Kyle Hunjan and Ben Hutton saw the points being shared. Earlier, a goal from Jared Grey for Bentley Youth had given Bentley the points against Ashbourne, while a 4–1 for St Joseph’s over All Saints saw them move off the bottom of the table.
Corey Whitehouse and Kyle Hunjan scored two each, with All Saints’ consolation coming from Ryan Williams.
Stone Cross moved into second place as goals from James Hall and Bradley Lovatt gave them a 2–1 win over Bentley, who had Oliver Aston on target.
Stone Cross followed this up with a goal less draw against Pensnett Harriers, whose 1 – 0 win over All Saints sees them also move into contention for honours.
Tyronne Spair scored the all-important goal that leaves the Division wide open.
