Iyseden Christie believes Kidderminster’s three-man attack can terrorise the Blue Square Premier – starting with tomorrow’s visit of Grays.

Harriers thrashed Stafford 6-0 on Tuesday as boss Mark Yates played 4-3-3 for the first time this season.

Burly frontman Christie was at the heart of the trio of attackers with Darrell Knights and Matthew Barnes-Homer, and scored twice and won a penalty.

Christie insists the revamped strikeforce can be a big hit.

“‘Knightsy’ dropped off a bit and that created a bit of extra space for Matthew and myself, and it worked extremely well,” said Christie.

“The way I play, I have a lot to offer the younger players and I think some of the good things I do are rubbing off on them.

“You’ve got to take some confidence from the game because if you don’t, there’s not a lot of point in winning.

“As much as you want to try and put your feet on the ground after a win like that, you take a lot of positives out of the game.”

Boss Mark Yates believes his improving side have turned the corner – and has ordered them to repeat their six-goal thrashing tomorrow.

Harriers were much-improved despite losing at leaders Aldershot last week before hammering sorry Stafford. “Last Saturday was a turning point – we gave the league leaders a really good game and competed very well,” said Yates.

“We haven’t seen enough of it though. We’ve probably dropped too many points to reach the play-offs, but Tuesday night was a step in the right direction and we’ll look to do the same against Grays.

“We had a thumping down there. But if we keep believing and do what we did against Stafford, we have a chance.”

Yates has already said he’ll name an unchanged side – and 4-3-3 formation – after Tuesday’s heroics and added: “You don’t change a winning team when you’ve won 6-0.
