Two former Willenhall Town footballers who peddled heroin and crack cocaine on the streets were jailed for three years each by a court today.

Anthony Boswell, who was arrested as he ran out on to the pitch to play for Willenhall, and his cousin Nathan Jackson (pictured in kit), were caught with drugs worth hundreds of pounds after police swoops.

Jackson, aged 21, of Audlem Walk, Park Village, was arrested after police found £40 worth of heroin and 26 wraps of crack cocaine, worth a total of £500, during the search of a house linked to him in Stafford, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.

Boswell, who joined Willenhall from Darlaston, was wanted by police after they searched an address linked to him in Ellerton Walk, Park Village, Wolverhampton, in June last year.

Boswell, aged 24, of Probert Road, Oxley, who scored in each of his first two appearances for Willenhall Town, was arrested at the club’s Noose Lane ground moments before a match in November.

Boswell, also known as Anthony Newton, admitted possession of heroin with intent to supply.
