goal.jpgUnder 8s – The opening games of the session saw two exciting and nail biting charity cup semi finals.

Jordan Astbury bagged the all important goal as F.C. Perton beat On the Ball Academy to book their place in the final at Wednesfield F.C.’s Amos Lane ground on 17 April where they will face Bentley Youth who beat Vic Market Tigers courtesy of a strike from Jake Powers.

League leaders Bentley followed up their cup semi final success with a league victory over On the Ball with two goals from Keiran Francis and one from Reece Rolston with Joel Waite replying for OTB while F.C. Perton shared the spoils with Vic Market Tigers in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Jordan Williams and Jack Whistance were on target for Perton with Ethan Jones and Liam Jones replying for the Tigers.

Strollers beat Stone Cross Academy Tigers to keep up the pressure on the leaders with Reece Law netting for the Tigers while Ayden Bogle bagged the only goal of the game as Stone Cross Academy Lions beat stable mates Stone Cross Tigers.

Under 10s Congratulations to Wolverhampton Development Pumas who took the champions title in the First Division, ending the league season with two victories.

An excellent 5 – 1 victory over Perton and Codsall East was followed by a 2 – 0 win against Tipton Olympic.

Jack Richards was the hero of the first match, hitting four of the five goals, the other coming from James Jukes.

The same two lads were on target in the second match, scoring one each, to guarantee the title to Pumas.

Runners-up spot looks likely to go to FC Perton, who lie second on goal difference above Tipton.

Perton managed a 1 – 1 draw in their only game of the day against Rowley Rangers.

Oliver Matthews was on target for Perton, with Daniel Dudle scoring for Rowley. The result means that Perton only need a point from their final game, but defeat by more than two goals gives the runners-up spot to Tipton. Couldn’t be closer !!!!!

Elsewhere in the division Perton and Codsall East soon recovered from the defeat to Pumas to run out 4 – 0 winners over Wolverhampton Development Panthers with Sam Leason, Jamie Ward, George Vernon and Jake Sharman all on target.

In the day’s other game Panthers and Tipton Olympic shared the points in a 1 – 1 draw, Alex Nyan on target for Panthers and Michael Dubosz for Tipton. In the Premier Division the positions at the top changed yet again, as Perton and Codsall West took over top spot with two victories, and their three rivals all took points off each other as Lane Head beat Willenhall Town, who beat Wednesfield, who went on to beat Lane Head !!!! Perton and Codsall started their day with a 4 – 0 win over Smethwick Sikh Temple, the goals coming from Daniel Slyde, Nicholas Cox, Jack Kriskinans and Jack Bishop. This was followed by a 3 – 0 win over New Park Village, with a brace from Jack Bishop and one from Joel Jaworski.

A very close encounter between Lane Head and Willenhall Town saw Lane Head get the best of a five goal thriller.

Russell Heathcock, Jack Whitehouse and Jake Proffitt were on target for Lane Head, with Jordan Rayat and Ryan Bourne replying for Willenhall.

Lane Head couldn’t keep their momentum going, losing to the only goal of the game scored by Kane Matthews for Wednesfield, who themselves went down to a single goal from Ashley Doughton for Willenhall.

However, top scorers of the day were New Park Village, with goals from Murteza Hoxi (2), Frank Hill, Kheallem Russell and Joshua Essen giving them a 5 – 0 win over Smethwick.

This league is a four-horse race that is certain to go to the last matches of the season.

Coven United Colts remain leaders of the Second Division despite losing both their matches, but the chasing group is closing in, and the team to watch is Ashbourne Raiders.

Colts lost both their games by 2 – 3 score lines, going down to Stone Cross Academy in their first match and Ashbourne in the second.

James Hall hit a brace and one from Connor Louth gave Stone Cross the victory, with Ciaran Singh and Henry Hague-Jones replying, while two from Callum Bradley and one from Charlie Irving gave Ashbourne the win, the reply coming from Jack Hague and Henry Hague-Jones.

Ashbourne followed this victory with a 5 – 0 win over St Joseph’s Colts.

A Charlie Irving hat trick and goals from Callum Bradley and Joshua Evans put Ashbourne into a strong position, three points behind Coven but with three matches in hand.

Congratulations to All Saints Juniors, who picked up their first points of the season.

Ryan Williams, James Harper, Jake Peake were on target as Saints ran out 3 – 2 winners over St Joseph’s, who had Kyle Hunjan and Ben Dutton on the scoresheet.

Pensnett Harriers moved up a place with a fine 4 – 0 victory over All Saints with Daniel Starns (2), Jamie Read and Tyronne Spair on the mark for Harriers.

In the Third Division Salisbury Rangers lie fourth, but the three teams above them have all completed their fixtures, while Salisbury have two matches left.

Theo Williams (2), Joe Sheldon and Theo Bird had earlier been on target in a 4 – 1 win over Prestwood, who had Jordan Miller score.

NC Colts currently lie second after a 5 – 1 victory over Prestwood was followed by a 2 – 2 draw against Salisbury.

In the first match a brace from Joe Rudd for Salisbury was cancelled out by goals from Reece Peterkin and Reece Arnold, while Reece Peterkin became the hero of the day as he hit all five goals in the win over Prestwood, who had Morgan Campbell on target.

Salisbury had earlier run out convincing 4 – 1 winners against Bustleholme, all Salisbury’s goals coming from Dean Gallagher, with Jake Powell replying for Bustleholme.
