The first Dudley derby this season was deservedly won by the home team.

The wind played a big part in the game with no team finding any fluency at all.

Sports did look the better of the two teams in the first half playing some good neat football and deservedly taking the lead in the twenty fifth min, Mat Bridgwater finishing off in style from a cross from Anthony Cox.

The first half finished with Sports looking the stronger of the teams and defending well against a lively Town attack.

The second half was a total contrast, Sports never came out of the dressing room and had a run around for forty five minutes, Town were level five minutes into the second half, Christos Makris heading home after a mix up in the Sports defense.

Town then had a great shout for a penalty soon afterwards when Luke Paskin made a challenge on Makris inside the box, but the ref waved play on.

Sports could have saved themselves with their only real attack of the half, Ross Harris shacking off a defender to score only for the ref to blow for a foul against the defender.

Overall it would have been un just if Sports had got something out of this game this was their worst performance of the season and Town made Sports pay for there lack of effort in the last five minutes, yet another mix up in the Sports box lead to a simple tap in for Sam Thasker to secure all three points for Town.
