No panic says Ebanks-Blake
Wednesday 13th February 2008, 2:19PM GMT.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake insists there is “no panic” in the Molineux camp after Wolves slipped off the play-off pace with a goalless draw against Blackpool.
Mick McCarthy’s men now have 14 games left to overturn six teams and a four point gap that stands between them and top six place.
Wolves hitman Ebanks-Blake – who rattled the post with a fierce shot in the second half – was happy with the point at Bloomfield Road, which he saw as a potential starting point for a revival.
“We’ll take a point, one game at a time,” he said.
“I think everyone’s in a rush for us to get three points but Blackpool are no mugs. They are a strong team and I thought it was an entertaining game. We’ll take a point and try and build from here.
Ebanks-Blake insists confidence in the camp remains high, despite a run of three games without a win.
“We’re never going to panic,” he said.
“We still believe we can make the top six, that’s what we are aiming for and we’ve got the footballers to do it.
“No matter how much pressure we’re under I thought we played some decent stuff and we always try and play football and do things the right way.”

On a dour, tit for tat have a jibe at the opposition day, here for what its worth,is my penny worth.
The current Wolves squad is not going up!Mick McCarthy is too stubborn & sticks with his favorites rather than give “fringe” players like Rosa & Eastwood a fair crack of the whip.He only signed Elokobi as an afterthought, knowing his defence were suffering from injuries.Dave Edwards from Luton….as he got the grit of a Paul Ince/Alex Rae?
Only time will tell. How many forwards does he nedd/can he play at one time? He signed SEB & Kyle in the window, when he has the aforementioned Eastwood, Bothroyd (who’s bone idle, lazy & a waste of obvious talent)Keough & the rest.Total goals this season? Not a lot.
West Brom are slightly stuttering at the moment, though their forwards are scoring for fun.Even Sherjil is getting in on the act out on loan to the Cider makers!
I think both Wolves & Albion CAN go up this season, though in Wolves case, quoting someone from yesterday, it would take a comeback of Lazarus proportions.
West Brom will go up automatically if they concentrate on the league & get out off the FA cup this weekend!

I wish they would panic, I wish I got the feeling that they could give a chuff!
This is more banal Moxey rhetoric!
“We can still make it”
“We’re not panicing”
“We’re moving forward”
Pull the other one!

entertaining game?????????????????

Well it looks like Sylvan still has the bottle for the fight for promotion

As SEB been having Spinning lessons from Mcarthy & Poxey Moxey?
On a lighter note, look what I found on the West Brom pages:-
terrywalsallbaggie:
You call Wolves fans fickle?
It’s better than being THICK.Just exactly did you donate your brain?
Ending every entry with boing boing is just SO boring!
Try doing something diferent for a change & write some common sense.
TonyWBA:
Bloomfield Park? Last time I went there it was called Bloomfield Rd, though if terrywalsallbaggie was giving the directions, you’d either end up in Bloomfield Rd,Tipton or Blackpole Worcester instead of Blackpool Lancs!

are these players paid by mick to make silly comments,we are in the wrong end of the league and from what i can see their is no improvement score wise,we are still poor and until conner and co are removed from our club we will not make any progress what so ever, bring on someone who will give us some hope of premiership football.

No panic…! Apathy and stagnation sprind to mind at the moment. I thought we were buying young and hungry players. I wish somebody at the club would wake up and smell the coffee, Wolves are not going up this year. The club and some fans still feel that all we’ve got to do is win some games, seems simple, but not looking at the run in we’ve got. I’m not being negative, just relaistic. Let’s get some of these hungry players start playing for their places next season and let’s see where we go, hopefully these include some of our own like Evans, Davis etc.

Martin as myself u sit in the south bank by the looks of it. Only difference is i bet your one of the many idiots in the stand who never find anything entertaining. You just come up to shout rubbish and probably never watch the football. Your not the only sorry person tho as i’ve said your one of many.

Its the same old rubbish being trotted out.Dont panic ,be patient,we are making progress etcetc.I would reply to these comments as follows. We do need to panic ,our current form could get us relegated.WE have been patient for 20 years, and the longer we are out of the premiership the harder it will be to get back in.We are not making progress,we are going backwards. The players signed this year are worse than those already at the club.We are NOT buying quality players.

Lets take a break from all the cat – fighting. I have some important news that all wolves fans should be united in, regardless of their views on other issues.
March sees the publication of the biography of Dave Wagstaffe. I urge all fans to order their copy now. Not for the tasty revelations I’m told are contained therein, but to show appreciation of one of the finest ever to have worn our shirt. He had one hell of a left peg, a match winner and
exciting to watch and scored the best goal ever seen at the Mol., or anywhere else for that matter. A fitting tribute from the Club would be to permanently retire his number. No one could ever do justice to the No 11.
Buy Waggy’s book everyone.

I for one will be buying it,a fantastic player who did not get the recognition he deserved as far as England caps were concerned.

Who is in charge of PR at Wolves?!
It really doesn’t help articles like this.I don’t blame Ebanks-Blake for these annoying statements.
it is the management.
For goodness sake all the squad should be angry with themselves they have let the Club down and the fans.
Get mad, you so and so’s ,you are clearly way too comfortable for a bunch of failures!!
Here’s to some big clear out this summer.

Here’s to some big clear out this summer…
Big being the operative word.First to go would be McCarthy, closely followed by Moxey,Connor, Bothroyd, most of the ex Sunderland/Irish players & any whinger who fails to pull their weight or put in a “FULL SHIFT”

Stupid “Dingles” crying from your armchairs.
Get to a game and stop slagging the team off !!!
Lets sack Mick and bring in Big Sam or Little Sam, like Big sam would come to Wolves, money would not be good enough due to our fickle fans wanting him sacked with in a week.
We should back the team as SEB says.

Get real, promotion would be disastrous for all at the club…. none are good enough for the premier with the current set up, so lets hope for mid table safety and an end of season goal festival?!

And yet another point that will kick off our season 6 months late.Yet another ‘false dawn’.
At least we didn’t concede and our cup – run continues. I work next door to the Wembley stadium and I’m looking forward to the stream of black and gold that will cascade down the High Road in a couple of months. After all – who’s left in the cup that can touch us?
Lets not get so worked up about this season. We ain’t going up but we must get better.
PS David Jones will have the last laugh on saturday for sure and why not. We should never have given him the sack. he earned another chance…

Steve Morgan ain’t no mug. He reads the papers and knows the situation, MM is on borrowed time. It all went down hill when South Korea came in for him, he thinks he can do better than us so his hearts not in it anymore. Allardyce or Coleman are only a phone call away people.

Ebanks blake was a complete joke on tuesday night. It seems his ‘a’ gamne is to play with his back to goal, try and win the ball by backing in with what can only be described as a duck like adopted stance and then swivel on the ball and score a scrappy goal. He tried it and failed and fell over for 90 minutes last night.
People will mention the shot that hit the post, he fell over for that, after getting ahead of the defenders a good striker would have slipped it into the corner. this guy has no balance at all let alone a first touch

Blake and Eastwood to start!
Which reminds me of when we had Nathan Blake and Paul Butler, just for the amount of on the buses based humour I used to derive from that fact.

And in all fairness, there’s a possibility I might just have seen the Baggies play more times than you.
