Torquay United 1 Kidderminster 0
Torquay United maintained their hopes of automatic promotion as a Mark Ellis goal deep into added on time at the end of the first half saw off the challenge of Kidderminster Harriers.
Harriers tactically thwarted the Gulls in a first half of few opportunities, Mark Creighton and Luke Jones coped admirably with the home side’s direct approach.
Mark Yates, the Harriers manager was pleased with his new-look team.
He said: “I am a little disappointed we have not taken anything from the game, I thought my players were very good.”
“We turned off for five seconds and Torquay took advantage, we kept to a game plan in the first period to ensure we were still in with a chance against a very direct and physical team who are challenging for top spot.
“In the second half we created a number of chances but their keeper pulled off a great save with his legs to deny Iyseden (Christie).”
