Fire crew attacks ‘rise’

Fire brigade in action Photo: PAFirefighters have called for greater protection after a new report revealed a catalogue of attacks.

Crews who face the daily threat of being ambushed, shot at, stabbed and abused, according to the the Fire Brigades Union.

It claims that the number of incidents is increasing even though official figures show a fall in attacks against crews.

The union says there are 40 attacks on firemen and women every week and said the number of incidents recorded by fire authorities in England and Wales are four times those in the official Government statistics.

Attacks increased by 15% last year but official Government figures showed a dramatic fall of 68%, said the union.

In some parts of the country, attacks are so frequent that they are no longer reported, according to the FBU.

Enough is enough.95% of the population in this country have no ” rights ” at all.Every polititian should hang their head in shame.
We either come out of the EU and start to run our own affairs again or we cede control fully to Europe
and operate a skeleton staff at
    Westminster.
It is 360 years since our last civil war but it won’t be long before the next one unless someone stands up for the 95% again. Please don’t let my comments be wasted. Thank you.

Its about time that permission was given for the fire brigade to spray the offenders with pink dye, the police can then go and pick this scum up later. The job that these guys do is hard enough without having to watch out for the lowlifes that think attacking them is fun.
