In a bruising encounter between Ashmore and Highcroft where both teams expected to get kicked and nether side let the other down the Ashmore came out on top with a 4-2 win to take them 9 points clear at the top of the league.

Mark Cooper scored three superb goals bring his Talley to 36 so far this season and one by Rogers giving him 23 for the season.

Once again a large crowd my it’s way to the ponderosa to see the Ashmoreonians put in a good shift this game was played at a very high tempo from the start but the Ashmore had the better of the first half and a true score at half time could have been 5-1 to the home side as the Ashmore missed chance after chance.

In the 2nd half 2-0 down the Highcroft worked hard to get back into the game and did pull a goal back 2-1 but the cheesemen just stepped in up a gear and it was soon 3-1 then 4-1 but both sides kept having a go at each other late tackles and off the ball incidents only to add flavour and spice to this highly charged game the ref did well not to send players off from both side and that was far play to him highcroft made it 4-2 at the end but it was the Ashmore’s day.

After the game Manager Padda Brewster said: “I would like to thank all the supporters that came here today it was a hard game for both sides he went on to say I told my players that if they keep take any notice of the crowd then they would be joining them next week”.
