Wolves play down midfielder bid
Friday 25th January 2008, 1:50PM GMT.
Wolves have again been linked with a move for Nottingham Forest winger Kris Commons.
Reports claim Wolves have made a bid for the 24-year-old and while there is long-standing interest from Molineux, sources insist there has been no bid for the player.
Wolves have watched Forest’s last two games but it looks unlikely that there will be a move before the January transfer window shuts next week.
The club did have an offer accepted for Birmingham’s Matt Sadler before the left-back opted to go to Watford, however.
The defender joined the Hornets yesterday and may line up against Wolves tomorrow.

We won’t buy anyone now I wouldn’t have thought before the end of Jan!
Interesting that Sadler chose Watford instead of us! Commons would be good but I don’t think he is worth £2.5 mil as quoted on Sky’s website!

Nathan, Watford are 2nd & we’re mid table, i’d guess that’s why he went there.

He would be a very good buy. But with Kites, would he play??

I definately think that commons is worth 2.5 mil he was brilliant for Stoke a few years ago, and is definately the sort of player wolves should be after…
he can play through the middle and on the flank…
but we do need defensive reinforcements… a good centre half with pace and ability, a midfield terrier and possibly a left back (although i think Jones and Gray will do til the summer).
If Wolves are offered 2.5 mil for Henry we should take it because we can get much better players than him for that money!

Nathan, Watford have a competent manager… i’d guess that’s why he went there

Nathan, Watford might play him on the wing, i’d guess that’s why he went there

But if you look at club stature, potential, fan base, stadium and Morgans millions I would say in 3 years time we would be in a better league position then Watford. In 2 years time we will be, maybe even this season!!! Wrong move for him in my opinion, maybe sour grapes on my part but………

It says down here in the Watford Observer that the player was promised first team football which wasnt guaranteed at Wolves.

Great news, MM is recalling Dan Jones back from Northampton after the weekend.
This kid is class, why Mick ever let him out on loan i’ll never know.
This should sort the problems we have at left back.
Lets hope Edwards can keep fit and Craddock makes a quick recovery and our defence is sorted.
Watch out The Championship, Wolves are coming to get you.
ps
Lets see how long it takes for Terrywalsallbaggie to come up with one of his dumb comments followed by his even dumber Boing Boing’s.

We never bid for Sadler !!!
What are you on E&S, do you copy & paste from the daily star ?
Commons is worth 500k (only 6 months on his contarct left)
Sadler wanted to go to Wolves but they mucked him about..TRUST ME HE LIVES NEXT DOOR!!!!

Dont dispute Jones is a good player, especially going forward but why will he solve our left back problem? Before Saturday Northampton hadn’t won in 5 and were shipping goals. He’s a prospect certainly and I prefer him back at the Mol, but Little would be a better bet….He’s just won consecutive MOM awards and he is a full back

Lee, seen a few of your comments recently. The word muppet suddenly pops into my mind. Although u do make me chuckle, i think your comments would be better suited elsewhere. So pack up your computer and lunchbox and leave the posts to decent fans with decent views. C’MON WOLVES !

Living in Nottingham, I’ll tell you alot of Forest fans would gladly take the money for Commons. No doubt he is a quality player with alot of talent. BUT his attitude has been brought into question alot and he does have fitness problems more often than not…..would we really want him??
Shame about the left back though to be honest I’ve never heard of him!! It’s all gone quiet about the lad from Walsall and the one with the funny name from Colchester…..anyone heard anything?
It’ll be great to have Jones back, he’ll be a long term solution in that position I think, but he will need back up/competition.

we wont sign any one trust me

Why spend silly money when we know exactly what Daniel Jones can do. He is a quality left sided player and will get better and better given a good run in the 1st team…. do it MM or pi** off back to Ireland

Daniel Jones is a god awful left back.

South Bank Faithful: so what was said then by Sadlier? what had wolves done wrong?
ed wolf – Commons is a left winger primarily or central midfielder so Kites would still playon the right
Report abuse
Sadler watched tapes of recent Wolves and Watford games and chose Watford because they were not booing their team and manager on every tape he saw. Who would willing sign for us when they have other options that don’t include listening week in week out to a mindless minority?

Re Daniel Jones.
I saw him play at Doncaster a few weeks ago,he played left back,he was given the runaround by the Donny winger.Good going forward though.

DJ is atop kid! the crosses he was putting in before where of the highest quality!,
he may lack pace but he read`s the game well and is a true wolf!!
let him come home with confidence and fitness and shut some of you wingeing wolves fans up!!
i`ll be with the true fans 2moz traveling to watford to sing our hart`s out for the lads!! taking my 9yr old lad to his 1st ever away game!! so COME ON YOU WOLVES!

Be great if we did make a successful bid for him – he can take on his man and score plenty of goals. Might be the final piece we are looking for in midfield.

Sadler opted to go to Watford!! Fair do’s opting for a much smaller club with no long term potential. Wonder what they were paying him? Let him go, only want committed players.

i agree jones aint the best left back but we mite as well try him there and see wat the lad can do, he’s certainly got to be quicker than gray and his left foot is brilliant, could come in handy at set pieces to. i agree about Little an all, i remember Lescott sayin Little was one of the best young defenders he’s ever played with, so he could be good one day to. Defense could look bright in the future.
you keep saying that wolvensam but you havent a clue he has all the attributes to make a great left back. 1 poor 45 mins in what was his 2nd appearance for wolves 2 years ago doesnt change that. Have seen him play prob about 6 times and each time it was left mid, each of these occasions thought he looked like a left back.
Please stop talking crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He made 6 appearances last season, practically all were at left back and he was being given the run around by practically every right winger he faced.
I know and talk to 3 Northampton fans, all of the them say Jones is awful at left back and say he isn’t a defender in a million years. All of them are also season ticket holders.
Am I still talking crap?

Never mind Commons what about B Robson the midfield player from Dundee Utd – scoring from midfield for fun and we believe has an excellent left foot
A couple of championship teams have bid £850k for him
Anyone know any info on him???
