redball.jpgBrierley Hill Snooker Centre A are still setting the Premier Division pace after a 4-1 success at Stourbridge Institute A.

Eliott Bastable’s 66 break was the highlight and he was backed up by Karl Ashmore, Maria Catalano and Darren Oakes, with Tom Johnson taking a frame for the Institute against Richard Lampitt.

The victory leaves Brierley Hill with a seven-point lead over Baggeridge Social A.

Baggeridge beat Dibdale 5-0 with Adam Davies, Mark Jeffries and the three Evans’ siblings, Richard, Reanne and Ryan –with a 71 break– all winning.

Kinver Constitutional A are in third place, 11 points further back, after beating Brandhall Labour 4-1.

Hot Shots SC and Bearwood Cons both enjoyed 5-0 maximums – Joe Anderson’s 73 for Bearwood the highest break of the night.

Charlie Randle’s deciding frame victory for Norton Social A at West Midland Police gave his team a much-needed success after a run of defeats.

The top four teams in the First Division all came unstuck in an unusual batch of results. Kinver Constitutional B lost 3-2 at Kingswinford RBL, where only Arnold Tromans and John Rees could win.

For the Legion, Anthony Davies, Stephen Small and Martin Wilson, who ended the Colin Stevens-Wood’s unbeaten 14-game run, were victorious for Kingswinford.

Kinver still hold a five-point lead over Kingswinford Cons A who lost to Norton Social B 3-2.  John Tyler, on the black, Barry Tromans and Dominic Allen  produced probably Norton’s best result of the season.

Langley Bowling club remained a point away in third place when they lost at Amblecote RBL B. Darren Waldron, Pete Fenemer and Chris Price clinched it for Amblecote but Stourbridge Institute B lost ground when they went down 5-0 at Brierley Hill SC C – another great result for Daryl Garland, Steve Parkes and their trio of youngsters, Luke Garland, Rob Jones and Ashley Sidaway.

Six victories in succession have lifted Amblecote Institute C to the top of the Second Division for the first time. Wayne Biggs, Roger McManus, Mitch Skidmore and Sam Harrison combined to edge past their E team 4-1. They hold a one point lead over their own D team who beat Amblecote’s F team thanks to Mike Richards’ win in the decider against Carl Butcher.

Kingswinford Cons B are only four points off the top, but had to work hard to beat Pensnett Libs A 3-2. David Hickinbottom beat John Jennings on the final ball after Fred Dent and Graham Lewis for the Cons and Keith Wellbourne and Vic Southam for Pensnett had squared the match at 2-2.

Kinver Constitutional C beat Wombourne B 3-2, with Steve Jones’ 13th successive win now becoming the longest unbeaten sequence, and Richard Buley edged the decider for Pensnett Libs B who beat Kingswinford Cons C 3-2.
