The landlord of the Black Country’s famous Crooked House pub is moving on to start a new life in Australia.
Brett Harrison, who grew up in Tipton, was always fascinated by the historic pub on the edge of the Himley estate and so it was a dream come true when he took it over in 2003.
The 36-year-old told today how he, his wife Amanda and their six-year-old daughter Eve were now following another dream and emigrating to New South Wales by August this year. The couple will also leave behind The Lock pub in Wolverley.
“This is another chapter in life and time to give something else a go,” he said. “We are planning to run a cafe bar but I am sure we will have to work hard to find somewhere quite as unique as The Crooked House.
“We have all sorts of people come through the doors at the pub from all over the world because it still retains that fascination.”
