Bustlehome 1 Dudley Sports 2
Saturday 19th January 2008, 9:27AM GMT.
A spirited Bustlehome performance saw them run Dudley Sports close in a tight encounter that saw Sports pushed to the limits at times.
Bustlehome took a surprise lead in the twelfth minute resulting in there first league goal in months.
It was a some what fortuitous goal which saw Sports keeper Jay Trav save a well hit shot by the Bustlehome forward but could do nothing when the rebound hit the forward and looped back over the keeper and into the net.
The equalizer came within minutes when the impressive Chris Raybone picked the ball up just outside his own penalty box and set out on a run that took him past five players and into the penalty area.
He was only halted when he was tripped by two defenders resulting in a penalty kick.
Grant Joshua fired home from the spot with a well-taken penalty to level the scores.
Half Time
Bustlehome 1 Dudley Sports 1
The second half saw Sports play some great football which Bustlehome did well to keep out at times, Bustlehome did have there share of the game though and always look dangerous on the break.
The sports winning goal came out of nothing, there seemed to be little danger when full back Luke Astley passed the ball onto Ross Harris just inside the Bustlehome half.
The forward turned and ran beating two defenders and un leashing a fierce shot into the bottom corner of the net from all of twenty five yards.
Sports could have increased their lead when Raybone went clear but was again tripped just outside the box resulting in a red card for defender.
This was a well-competed game by both sides and Sports did well to overcome a well-organized Bustlehome side.
