Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Dudley Sports 2 Ledbury 1
Saturday 12th January 2008, 10:50AM GMT.
After last week’s defeat these were three welcome points.
Sports started very strong with a host of chances being created in the early stages but it took the home side till the twentieth minute to take the lead when a long throw from Mat Taylor was meet by centre forward Ross Harris who powered home a header into the top of the net from six yards out.
Sports were in total control of the match now but could not find another way thru a stubborn Ledbury defence and a excellent goal keeper and it was Ledbury who were to score next levelling the game in last minute of the first half when a harsh decision lead to a free kick on the edge of the box, from the resulting free- kick the direct shot hit the wall and wrong footed the Sports keeper.

The second half was a different story Ledbury sniffed blood and had a real go at Sports and with three Sports players having to come off thru injury the home side looked very uncomfortable, they did settle down again though and came close to scoring when Grant Joshua ran thru the home sides defence only to see his effort narrowly go wide of the post.
The lead was regained though in the seventieth minute when an excellent thru ball by Chris Howard saw Mattiy Bridgwater brush off two challenges a riffle home a shot with his left foot from the edge of the box for what was an outstanding goal.
Bridgwater immediately could have added to the scores when he went one on one with the keeper but at the last minute the ball bobbled and his shot went wide.
Ledbury kept going and deserve a lot of credit for the way they played but Sports showed a lot of character to take all three points.
