An excellent solution to the problem. MM can walk away with his reputation intact and Wolves won’t have to make a payout, perfect!
Having said all that, lets hope that we appoint someone better than Sammy Lee. Else it could be a case of out of the frying pan into the fire.
Still, it wouldn’t be Wolves if there wasn’t anything to moan about!

Do you know whats been annoying me, is the speculation that Mellberg and Laursen are off to bigger clubs, yet MON and the staff at villa stated that they would address the situation in the new year, then after the FA Cup game, yet still nothing, with each passing day, other clubs are looking at them both, decalring interest, Laursen has said put a contract in front of me and i’ll sign, he wants to stay, the same with mellberg, he said he is open to the posibilty of staying, get them tied down now! They have both proven invaluable this season, is the signing of Knight and Davies the door opening for mellberg leaving, then let him go, come out and say it, but if we let him go, do whatever we can to keep laursen and get a dedicated right back in! Ideally i would love to see them both in claret and blue next season, but who knows, what is MON stalling for? What are villa stalling for?

MM is an excellent manager, who should be given an extended contract(minimum of 5 years) to continue to thrill the hordes at Moulinex.

What a mess Wolves have made of thing again.
If these reports are true then McCarthy ha already been interviewed for the job. Roy Hodgson said on the 5thof Jan that he had been interviewed for the vacant managers job.
Either Wolves or McCarthy needs to come out and catergorically deny these now persistant rumours or we can kiss the transfer window goodbye as no player is going to come to a club that is not stable.
If however the decisio has been made to bring in a new manager, who is the pushing force behind the new signings they are talking about.
Either way its a mess and we don’t want Sammy Lee.
C’mon the Wolves, Keep the Faith

I can’t believe that you can’t come up with anything more original?
You know as well as we do that Wolves are not a big hitting club any more, that is the reason that it is difficult to get good managers.
You have dropped lucky with Mobray , so enjoy it while it lasts but you should realize that kicking your opponents while they are down just makes you look crass and a little childish.

Latvia are ranked 86. Below China, Albania, Georgia and Haiti!!! I think this Karlsons guy should suit Wolves mediocrity just perfectly. See Latvian Wolf, I do know where Latvia is ;)

Am I the only one who cannot believe how certain Wolves fans have turned on a manager who could not do any wrong last season. We got behind the manager and the team and look what they did, we have a few poor performances this season, third in the league at one stage and people are still moaning and we wonder why we are where we are. Because of the pressure we put on them, get behind the team and Mick, up the Wolves!
I find it amazing that in half a season a club can go from loving a manager to collectively destroying him. The facts are these, you made the play offs last season and will probably make them again this season. However to hear Wolves fans saying sack the manager now is just plain weird, i do not think i can ever remember a manager going from hero to zero in such a short space of time.
If Mick ever reads this website i can imagine he is dusting down his Ireland Managers training jacket right now, i find it amusing that when the Wolves had money there was constantly the same whingeing attitude from a minority of the fans, that seemed to disappear last season when it was made clear the open cheque book of the past was now closed, however, now with Morgan on board and the promise of money that element of your fan base has come back with vengance!!!

This transfer window has opened this year to a resounding hush.
Everyone knows when the window is, so to have failed to plan for it is to have planned to fail. Managers who wanted new faces would have known before Jan who their targets were, so why the inactivity because as january begins to close the prices all go up…its called supply and demand in everyday terms; desperation for a saving grace in football, and the clubs holding player registrations know it.
Some clubs (like Albion) prefer not to do business in Jan as stated many times, for the reason of inflated prices, so to a degree we can watch on without too much to worry over. Yet we have fans of the Vile and the Dingles starting to get strung out; not only by the lack of signings, but also the fact that some of their better players are not being tied up to new contracts.
Yes Albion have Gera and Albie, out of contract at the end of the season, but we hold their registration now so the price is going up daily, and if they dont go and we go up I am sure that ToMo will secure their futures in the premiership with us if HE feels they are needed, or else they go with the fans thanks and blessings.
I know I am not party to the reasons why but surely the clubs/managers involved are either holding out for a large ticket on a current player, or the managers days are numbered and the clubs dont want to waste the clubs cash,as they will have to supply more for the replacement to get them in the door..this is probably not the case with MON’s job, so Ben (6) maybe there is some smoke here after all.
Boing Boing!!

Good to see that the fans are firmly behind the management then! If the team was doing much better we’d have nothing to moan about. MM should stay and let’s hope he will bring in some more unknown players as good as Kightly etc, like last year. Up the Wolves!

Just had a thought regarding MM. If he does get the Ireland job, what price Roy Keane not releasing players and still haunting Mick after all these years. Could be more fireworks to come.

I understand that people find all the ‘in-fighting’ going on at Wolves to be mystifying, but it is unrealistic to say that this has all happened in just a few games.
We are half way through the season and the vast majority of games have been poor. Wolves were winning games 1-0 by the skin of their teeth and many people were saying that we were in a false position, it was only a matter of time before things caught up with us!
As for last season, it was good and we had much to build on. Two good wide players creating bags of chances. Lots of potential with our youth players coming through. However, this season instead of buying a proven goal scorer and a quicker central defender MM has completely messed his own party up!
I think that instead of accusing fans of turning or moaning or booing someone should ask McCarthy just what he thinks he is playing at? People (en-mass) don’t loose faith in a manager just for the sheer hell of it!
Some questions I would like answering:
1. Why send the young players out on loan
2. Mark Davis/Rosa – what is the problem
3. Why send Craddock out on loan
4. Why is the striker position such a problem
5. Why play people out of position
These are not questions that would be asked if there wasn’t a problem so instead of ‘blind faith’ why doesn’t somebody come up with some explanations because until we get them sorted, mid table we will stay!

The rumours about Mick going to Ireland are growing and growing. I am starting to think its becoming inevitable he’ll go. Like I heard somewhere, our targets this Jan haven’t been prem quality and not that expensive so it seems he hasn’t got 7,8,9? mill to spend.
To be honest I think everyone would accept it and not begrudge him going. I reckon Mick would want the job and a lot of wolves fans would want him to take it. Its time to say thanks for last season mick, don’t worry we’ll clean up after you’ve gone! :-(
And the rollercoaster that is Wolverhampton Wanderers continues….

I would just like to say about wolves fans turning on Mick, we haven’t been good all season. I remember saying to my mate about when we were 5th or 4th in the league and we hadn’t even played well, so wait till we get into to top gear, we could win this league. Unfortunately we have started performing yet and we are over half way through it. My point is if it wasn’t for the great atmosphere last season 100% of wolves fans would have wanted Mick out last month, so I think us fans being split over Back him or Sack him shows we are using last season as a reason for keeping him. All i’m saying is if he took the Ireland job no one would care.

Richard Money must sign a 15year contract, we’ll be champions league by that time if he does…….top top manager! Hands off him Struggling Dingles!

When is Wolves gonna go 100% to get promoted to the Premiership, and stop talking about that the club deserves to be a Premier League team. Why does clubs like Reading, Wigan and Fulham succeed, and not Wolves? Cut the crap, and prove to us supporters that the club wants to get promoted? If Wolves is a sleeping gigant, why doesn’t we buy good players?
Why do we get outplayed by Burnley, and still wants to get promoted. What for? To get humiliated in the Premier League?
If we can’t beat Burnley, we’re simply not worthy of playing with the big clubs.
The new owner has a lot of money, spend most of that money now, so that we have a good chance of promotion. That will be benificial
for the club on long term. Go for it 100%, or let the club be a mediocre championship club.
I am so sick of the underachieving of the club, we have not achieved anything in almost 30 years. That is not acceptable if the club
are as big as the club leaders like to think. To be honest, Wolves have only two players that is good enough for Premier League; Michael Kightly and Wayne Hennessey. That means, the club has to buy a whole new team to get promoted, and to establish them there for many years to come. It might be painful to admit it, but that is the truth.
Regards from a frustrated Wolves fan from Norway.

Though I fully agree with most of what you have said, it’s not just Wolves that have been under-achieving in the past 30 years ( we won the League cup in 1980 ), but West Midlands football in general.
Our “Friends” in Claret & Blue were the last West Mids team to win ANYTHING worth shouting about, when they won the league one season & the European Cup ( Champions League ) the next.
Wolves,West Brom & Blues have been up & down like the proverbial Yo-Yo & even Walsall have had their fair share of promortion/relegation issues.
How do you cure this?

If you check our pages as often as it seems (not sure why you seem to prefer ours) you’ll notice I regularly write fairly long posts, but this is in fact when I am making several points. I don’t make one and drag it out, as i’ve got other things to do in my life.
Your comment is imprudent and fails to get to the point. Your comeback refers to my team using (lets face it)palpable drollness and lacks any essence.
You also failed to recognise that I wasn’t crticising your opinion, merely your modus operandi.
Lets be honest your quite juvenille insult, of bringing into question my ability to write in paragraphs, is just embarrassing and doesn’t even merit a respone.

Kent Wolf i suggest you re read my original message and tell me which aspects you feel are child-like in that message. We currently lie 5th in League One with a team averaging 21years old. Correct me if I’m wrong but your sitting in 10th, sliding down the league and struggling to score goals. Forgive me if I’m upbeat and full of youthful enthusiasm at the moment but the football were playing with local born players is exciting to watch. I am anxious in regards to our players and managers being tempted by under achieving teams such as yourselves.

Wolves fans……. fickle!
Do you really think a new manager can come in now, settle in, sort the team out, add to the squad and push for promotion? Mick did well last season to finish where we did but what are the chances of that happening again? Its not the answer. Wait until the last two weeks of the season, see where we are then make a change, so the new manager (if we need one) can come in and have a longer period to build for the new season.
Lets give Mick a chance to see if he can do what he did this time last year!

To those of you who’ve been saying all season “wait til we hit form and give someone a thrashing” : I suppose that was Saturday last then was it.
To those of you calling fans wanting Mick out “fickle” : some of us never wanted him in the first place. He got lucky last season. Gathered a group of players together in 5 mins flat. Could have gone pear shaped but didn’t. Played the kids who were there before him. Won’t give them a look in this. Created an up tempo style of play with 2 wingers and destroyed that this season. Truth is last season he didn’t have time to stamp his mark on the club. Now that he has…..
To those of you saying “who would you appoint in his place” : well I’d suggest a little bit of imagination like Bristol City used when appointing their manager. An up and coming manager. Not a “been round the block”, “he knows what it takes to get out this division” tired has been.
I agree we shouldn’t sack him now. As soon as this season is over i.e. mathematically impossible to reach play-offs, failure in the play-offs or promoted – sack him then. Because even if its the latter he’s already proved he can’t manage in the top flight. And before anyone says he didn’t get the financial backing, look at people like Steve Coppell who hasn’t spent big in Readings 1.5 prem seasons to date.

let’s face it, Wolves over achieved last year, and by adding a few mediocre players they thought they were going to push for the top two, or at least a play off spot…..
I think every wolves fan needs to face a little realisation here, Sheff U, Charlton and watford came down with great squads…other teams strengthened. What did you expect?
Having spoke to a few close (wolves) friends they have told me that this season is just another case of Wolves believing they have a ‘divine right’ succeeding! last season, without the money and with a ‘decent’ manager and team spirit you exceeding all expectation
as i say wolves fans, you need to stop being pessimistic and be realistic! your an average team now, baying for average players in an average league with an average manager!
