Premier: Brierley Hill Snooker Centre A took another step towards capturing the Premier Division title by beating fourth-placed Kinver Constitutional A, and they now have an eight-point cushion.
Karl Ashmore, Eliott Bastable, with a 56 break, and Maria Catalano were all in top form and won comfortably, although Mick Faulkner and Andrew Highfield, with a fine 72, took a frame each for Kinver.
Brierley Hill’s closest rivals, Baggeridge Social A, had dropped only seven frames at home all season, but they lost 3-2 against Bearwood Cons.
Dan Ward and Mark Jeffries won, but Joe Anderson, Dave Green, who did well to beat Wes Humphreys, and Mick Cash, who made a break of 61 in the decider against Ryan Evans, secured the match.
First Division – Kinver Constitutional B won 4-1 at Brierley Hill SC C to open up a three-point lead at the top of the First Division.
John Rees, Colin Stevens-Wood and Arnie Tromans and Mick Hartshorne, who both won crucially on the black, won for Kinver with Luke Garland replying.
Kingswinford Cons A won 3-2 on the final black at Amblecote RBL B when Roy Blewitt sank the last three balls, and they were joined in second place by Stourbridge Institute B, who brought to an end their dip in form by winning 4-1 at Wombourne A. Carl Green was their only casualty, pipped by David Flavell.
Second Division – Three straight defeats had threatened to unhinge Amblecote Institute D’s Second Division challenge but Colin Lewis, John Read and Colin Homer combined to win 3-2 away to Pensnett Libs B, for whom Steve Meakin and Adam Fisher won a frame apiece.
Their lead was reduced to a point as their C team defeated the bottom team, Pensnett Libs A, 4-1, with Sam Harrison winning again to share most wins in the division.
