Brackley Town 1 Halesowen 2

Sunday 23rd December 2007, 12:59PM GMT.

Halesowen TownHalesowen came from behind with two late goals after dominating for long spells on their first ever visit to Brackley.

In early play Paul Devlin hit a half-volley at goalkeeper Richard Knight and Scott Hadland headed onto the roof of Halesowen’s net.

The Yeltz then turned up the heat to create several good chances without taking advantage as Eldon Maquemba, Devlin and Dennis Pearce all went close.

Maquemba and Devlin squander further openings as Halesown continued to look the more likley scorers before the hosts took the lead on 59 minutes.

Tom Winters was the man on target, hammering home a loose ball from the left with what was Brackley’s first real chance.

Halesowen’s luck seemed to be right out in the 65th minute when Caskey’s direct free-kick rattled back off the crossbar.

However, the visitors stuck patiently to their task and were finally rewarded with two late goals.

Substitute and new signing Shane Hill equalised from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute after Maquemba was brought down by Josh Green.

Maquemba then latched onto a through ball to strike a superb winner into the top corner three minutes later to the delight of the festive Yeltz followers.
