Stoke 3 Albion 1

Saturday 22nd December 2007, 2:01PM GMT.

West Bromwich Albion

16.53: Five minutes of injury time not enough for Albion and it ends 3-1.

16.33: Baggies get a goal back through Roman Bednar. Sub Albrechtsen provides the cross and Bednar nods home.

16.32: Mowbray replaces Cesar with Albrechtsen.

16.28: Fuller grabs his hat trick and surely there is no way back for Albion now. Great finish from the striker as he hits Albion on the break.

16.25: Albion are “committing almost their entire team forwards” says Steve in a bid to grab a goal.

16.12: Stoke holding Albion at bay so far in the second half.

16.07: Ishmael Miller comes on for Chris Brunt. and Kevin Phillips is on for Teixeira as Albion go 4,3,3 to try to get back in the game

15.45: Half time and Albion have a mountain to climb after the interval.

15.38: Fuller grabs his second as Albion look set to be deposed by Watford at the top.

15.29: Best opportunity so far for Albion. Roman Bednar firing over the bar when he was through on goal.

15.26: Albion are on top now and have created chances through Teixeira and Gera.

15.22: It’s taken some time but Albion are getting into their stride, according to Steve.

15.16: Canadabaggie is urging his team on from North America, is he the furthest afield Albion fan today, let us know below.

15.07: Contoversial goal according to our man at the game Steve Madeley. He says the whole Albion side appealed for offside and handball.

15.05: Stoke take the lead. Ricardo Fuller the scorer and it’s a nice move with Mamady Sidibe. The Stoke striker slips the ball past Dean Kiely and practically his first job since returning to the Albion goal is to pick the ball out of the net.

15.00: We are underway at the Britannia Stadium.

14.52: There seems to be plenty of confidence about from Albion fans. baggie9 says “Albion to win in style”. One thing is for sure if Stoke win it won’t be in style – is there an uglier team to watch, but they are in fourth place going into this one.

14.35: Baggies fans give us your thoughts on that exciting team news below, just leave the comments in the box. Quick thought, Hoefkens is up against his old club for the first time and will be in for a rough ride.

14.27: Two changes for the Baggies, Dean Kiely and Carl Hoefkens return from injury in place of Luke Steele and Jarod Hodgkiss. Miller, Morrison and Albrechtsen have all recovered from knee problems to be on the bench.

Albion: Kiely, Hoefkens, Pele, Cesar, Robinson, Greening, Koren, Brunt, Teixeira, Gera, Bednar.

Subs: Steele, Phillips, Miller, Albrechtsen, Morrison.

14.08: Today’s table makes happy reading and if Albion win today they will be top at the halfway mark in the Championship season. What an incentive.

14.00: The bogey of all bogeys is back. Can Albion deliver a powerful message to the Championship before Christmas.

Tell us where you are joining us from, what you are up to and what you think of the match

Don’t forget to leave your comments before, during and after the game.

    stoke it up

Be interesting to read the match report from the excuse and star on this one. Stoke to big, ugly, and scary for the Barcelona of the fizzy pop league.
Never mind with a large slice of luck you will not have to capitulate to the ugly relation as we will be playing our football in a higher league than you next season.
Boing Boing Splat, thanks for the points girls.

Soi, also had to laugh at that ‘ugly’ comment – there was certainly nothing ugly about any of our goals or style of play today. The best team ont the day took all 3 points.

Anyways, despite the condescension and the lack of respect shown by some of the Baggies with their comments, good luck with the rest of the season.

    Same Old Story

I understand that Mowbray is complaining to the FA about Fuller :) he alledgedly ignored repeated requests to let the Albion defenders???? have the ball and even worse kept putting the ball into back of the albion net.
As a result of having to pick the ball out of the net so often the 73 year old albion keeper has now got a bad back.

we really need to start getting the ball in the box quicker when we are behind, not enough urgency, cant understand why we started with only one up front, must tighten up at the back conceeding to many goals, but we look good going forward we will be there come may, merry christmas boing boing
