With just a few matches played in the Scott Lloyd Charity Cup, the names of the cup finalists still have to wait until after Christmas to be decided. Only one match was played in Group A, and this saw Willenhall and Lane Head play out a 2 – 2 draw. James Shinton and Jake Proffitt were on target for Lane Head, with Ashley Doughton and Adam Hill netting for Willenhall, in a match of great skill worthy of two teams who will be gracing the Premier Division next season. In Group B Perton and Codsall East ran out 2 – 1 winners over Tipton Olympic, and FC Perton beat Wolverhampton Development Pumas 2 – 0. Jack Vernon and George Vernon were Perton and Codsall’s scorers, with Adam Woodward scoring for Tipton, while Oliver Matthews and Aaron Green were on target for FC Perton, who now top the group and must be favourites to go through to the Final at Bilston Town. All the teams in Group C managed to get a match. Stone Cross Academy and Pensnett Harriers fought out a goalless draw, while James Harper scored the only goal of the match for All Saints Juniors against St Joseph’s Colts. Most exciting match of the day in this group was between Bentley Youth and Ashbourne Raiders, which saw Bentley run out 3 – 2 winners, with a brace from Anthony Clift and one from Ryan Price. A brace from Ashbourne’s Charlie Irving was not enough to stop Bentley extending their lead at the top of the table, although the race for second place is really hotting up. Only one match was played in group D, and this saw Salisbury Rangers run out 4 – 0 winners against Coopers Casuals. Eathan Harris was the hat trick hero, with the other goal coming from Callum Lester. In the day’s only League game St Joseph’s Colts came up against Perton and Codsall West, who proved much too strong for them. P and C, with goals from Matthew Finney (2), Joshua Niven, Jack Bishop, Jack Ksiskinans, Daniel Slyde, ran out 6 – 0 winners.
