Driver killed in crash

ambulance2.jpgA driver was killed in a crash between two cars in Wolverhampton.

The unidentified driver of a Rover 620 that crashed with a Bentley was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash at 11.25pm last night.

Police today appealed for witnesses to come forward to help trace his family.

The tragedy happened close to the Untouchables hardware shop at the junction of Stafford Street and Cannock Road.

The other man involved escaped with minor injuries and was taken to New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton.

West Midlands Police Spokeswoman Catherine Preece said the dead man had not been identified.

She said: “The man, believed to be in his twenties or thirties and possibly from the Lithuanian community, was driving a red Rover 620 car, registration number N293 VHP.” Call police on 0845 113 5000.
